Well it would help if we knew what you were driving. It's a good idea to post your vehicle info in your sig to help those troubleshoot your problems. If not, always remember to post your info (year, model, etc) in your thread.

Have you taken a browse through the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) board? It's a good place to start.

Code 32 is for your EGR valve as you have already surmised. This is an OBD2 code so not much in the OBD2 DTC listing will help.

I would recommend removing the EGR valve and checking to see if it is stuck. Even new valves can be clogged by a chunk of carbon.

sorry code 32 for obd 1 . 93 blazer with a 4.3 vortec .....it's just weird that somebody has already changed the egr with what appears to be a new one ....then it starts to toss a code..was just wondering of any thing else besides engine vac that gives the egr the green light to open

i'll try and get down to his place and see what the heck is up....thanks

There is the electronic solenoid valve that controls the flow of vacuum to the valve. Most of the time though, it is a stuck valve due to carbon.
