CPI replacement question?
 

I just replaced my CPI and Now i am only holding 40 psi of fuel pressure. With the plenum off I can see fuel bubbling through the plastic return line.... Does this make any sense... Yesterday with the key on engine off with the old spider i was holding almost 60 psi. Did i get a bad spider? I also have fuel in the plenum again.. I am about to burn this thing to the ground. Somone please help. Later on I pulled the plugs again after replacing them again and found that they were all wet with fuel. So i took the spider back and got a new one installed it and its still running ruff. Soo i pulled all the plugs and now the front cylinder and rear cylinders are the only wet ones on the passenger side. and all the other plugs have that good brown look. Anyone have any better ideas? Also My dad has experience with older cars like chevelles and stuff and he says he thinks its a bad valve or valves. How often does this happen on these things?

Did you replace the internal fuel lines (a.k.a. "nut kit") when you replaced the spider? If not, that is likely the source of your problem.

However, if it truely is leaking fuel out of only the return line, your fuel pressure should not be impacted. The return line has a straight shot back to the tank and should contain very little pressure. The FPR is between the fuel feed line and the return line in the spider and is responsible for holding system pressure at the motor.
