Well, it all depends on how hard you dropped it. Was it dropped from a couple inches from the ground, a couple feet, or like 5 feet from the ground. Was it dropped on it's snout, side, or outer circumference. The parts of the torque converter that could be come damaged are the turbine and the stator. The stator is the torque multiplication device in the torque converter, there isn't really away to check it outside the trans. Actually, I guess you could listen for bearings rolling around in there. It has a one way clutch on it and bearings that could have been loosened and fell out . if it goes bad, you will loose the ability to normally accelerate. It would be a slow and gradual acceleration. The turbine is the driven member of the torque converter. With it, the vanes on the turbine could of become bent and can cause a rattle or can cause the fluid to be directed in the wrong manner. Causing a different shifting feel. let me know what happen and we'll go from there

Before I installed in the trans I held it and rolled it around listening to hear if anything was lose inside.I didnt hear anything out of the norm so Im going to hope its ok.

you could check the turbine by installing the torque converter in the tranny and placing it in gear, and turning the output shaft. Listen for any tinny scraping or clicking. also, don't forget to index the oil pump.

When installed the tranny
I checked by spinning the output shaft I dont feel anything out of the ordinary so I`ll guess I`ll see whaen I get this heap going.Im just crossing my fingers.Oh I almost forgot I didnt drop it from very high possibly about 10 inches or so.It would fall out of the trans when I was tring to raise it.

why dont ya keep every thing in one thread?

Dropped My Torque Converter
I dropped my torque converter also.... I couldn't tell if anything was broken.. but when I put it in and took my truck for a test drive I notice that my trans does not feel like it shifts, like it only has one gear? Any Ideas?
