Default Dipstick length?

Just got my 2001 Jimmy back from having an engine swap done. Among a host of other issues the guys that did the work managed to lose the transmission dipstick...

What is the length of the standard dipstick, and does anyone know its part number?

I'm kind of surprised nobody has replied yet.

I don't know if they're all the same, but the part number on mine is 10179270, and it's 28" long (to the top of the tube).

Hope that helps.

I was too shy to answer the question of dipstick length.

Yeah, after reading the title, I was almost afraid to click. But I figured, with a dipstick length of 28", I had nothing to be ashamed of.

Thanks!

... wait a minute, a quick google of that part number shows that to be the engine oil dipstick, not the "locking" transmission one. Are you sure you've got the right one?

Oops. My mistake. I read your question wrong. That is definitely the engine oil dipstick.

Unfortunately, I don't have a transmission dipstick to measure for you.

C'mon, George. We're all friends here. Your secret is safe with us...

I have no idea if the OP is still following this thread, but I found my old transmission dipstick from when I had an automatic transmission, and the part number is 15153604. I measured it and, from the stopper where it contacts the top of the dipstick tube to the very end of the dipstick itself, is exactly 31 inches.

If the OP has given up or found the info elsewhere, at least it might help somebody in the future.
