I just replaced the intake manifold gaskets on my 1999 Blazer. The gasket set that I bought came with a one for the distributor. Someone had this apart at some point before I bought it, and they didn't put a gasket under the distributor. Now with the gasket in there, the distributor sits up slightly higher than before and the mark that I made on the rotor and distributor doesn't exactly line up.

Should I leave this gasket out and just put some silicone in there? If I leave the gasket in, will the computer adjust the timing to compensate for the change?

Thanks for your help!

Ok. After looking at it again, my problem is the distributor isn't engaged with the oil pump shaft. Tomorrow, I will try the procedure that I found on here to align the oil pump with a screwdriver.
