engine barely runs and runs ruch

I was driving my 4.3 l CPI vin (w) to work one day and the water pump decides to go out causing the engine to overheat without me knowing until it was to hot. Before I could shut the engine off it actually died. and the engine has ran like crud ever since ( have to depress accelerator to star, idles real bad like missfiring and exhaust smells real rich). I noticed it runs rich and there seems to be gas getting into the oil somehow, however i had this problem before and it was the fuel spider which i replaced brand new and was running great for 2 years prior to this incident. I pulled the upper intake and it seems that there is gas in the plenum again as well. I had also wondered if the heat might have caused the head gasket to blow. Well i checked compression on all six cylinders and i got 147 -151 on all 6. So i went ahead and replaced water pump and let it run to see if i could get it back operational temp but before it got there i noticed a lot of what smelled like water vapor coming from behind the engine?!?! Could this be a head gasket? there are no visible coolant leaks! Does anyone know if this could be a head gasket problem. or possibly warped head??

Do you see any white smoke from the exhaust? Does the coolant level seem to keep lowering?

Have you tested your maf sensor or IAC?
