What are you burning now?
I am going to guess 87 octane without ethanol.
switch to 89 octane with 10% ethanol. It should cost less then the straight gas and has better octane. Plus the ethanol will clena out your fuel system, that can be good or bad depending on how dirty your fuel system is now.

Thanks, was hoping there might be something else CT. gas prices are $3.74 for 87 octane
guess I'll have to go to the 89 octane Any Idea where I might be able to buy an exhaust Y-pipe
From the Manifolsd to the cat for my 1995 Blazer

Did a quick search and turned up this thread (knew I had answered this before):
RE: cam retard 1999 blazer
Should give you some ideas on what you can try to reduce the possibilities of preignition (ping).

Thanks, I will take a look at each item suggested and if no change will bump up the octane to 89

Try your local dealer or local muffler shop.

Gave the EGR Valve a good cleaning, Throttle Body, and Air intake sensor were also cleaned.
Ping is gone and overall throttle responce has improved, Also replaced EGR gasket with the one
with the screen in it to break up Carbon. Thanks for the Tips. My truck is a 95 replaced motor at 200000 due to a bad valve guide making it skip at idle, Tranny has 282000 miles on it still performs fine exept for if I shift into reverse it shifts hard, Any advise on that issue? Tranny shifts fine in all forward gears no slipping or hesitation.
Thanks Again

you might want to try a hotter spark plug. or even a platinum type plug. this worked for me in a small block chevy w/ carb
