Engine swap year difference question
 

Will a 1994 4.3l short block interchange with a 1996 4.3l Vortec short block?

1994 4.3l engine block, crank, cam, rods, pistons, timing chain and gears.
Interchange with a 1996 4.3l vortec.
If I use my oil pan, timing cover, reluctor wheel, heads, intake, and other ECU required components?
My 1996 Blazer LS 4.3l vortec dropped the oil pump pick up tube and screen. And damaged the bottom end up before I could get it off the road and shut it down.
