Default Engine won't start...

Hey everyone, sorry in advance if this is already out there, I did search before I posted this but didn't quite find what I was looking for.

So I have a 96 Blazer that won't start on it's own, but if I pour a little gas in the the top of the throttle body it starts right up and will run well until you turn it off, then its the same old story.

The fuel pump was changed about 2 years ago, the fuel filter was changed within the past 6-8 months. New plugs, dist. cap & rotor, alternator & battery; ign coil tests out fine too. Fuel pressure reads about 50psi with the key on/engine off and flickers around 48-52 with the engine running. I've got an idea what the problem is but I would like to hear your ideas. Thanks for the help,
Mike

Ok thanks, that's what I think too, I was just hoping someone had some other thoughts that wouldn't involve dropping the gas tank!

Hey guys, I spent the day replacing the pump and it solved the problem! Thanks for your help, the pressure now holds steady around 55 with no flickers and the car starts like a champ.

Mike,i hope you purchased a delphi or ac delco pump. or you'll be back in it soon. These things are PICKY on fuel pumps.
