Fuel Filter Push-On Connector Question
Hello Gang,
I don't post often, because for real, my 2000 blazer has been ultra reliable. Last night my daughter was driving close to the house and the engine died. When I got there, there was a fuel spill under the truck. We rolled it off the fuel spill, but when we turned on the ignition, we were getting more gas on the road. I pulled it home with the 3500HD and today, I found that the fuel filter outlet was missing the hose to the engine. I put the fuel line back on and it snapped into place over the outlet pipe. I pulled on it and it seems secure. 20 years and 200,000 miles and it just fell off yesterday. I'm concerned that it will fall off again. What's the fix without having to replace the whole fuel line to the engine ? I appreciate your thoughts . Doc |
I think it's trying to tell you it's time for a new fuel filter.

It shoots fuel out of the filter like crazy...
A pencil sized stream and it almost goes to the front tire. This connector is after the filter. Thanks ! Doc. |

This connector has a white plastic clamshell surrounded by the black plastic connector body..
No metal. This may be the fix https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-22722-800-058.aspx And I will order a new Filter just for good measure. Thanks Doc |
I think the white piece normally comes with a new filter. That might be all you need if the black piece isn't cracked or deformed.
