Fuel Pressure Testing
 

I keep reading about testing your fuel pressure. Can someone explain the process of how to do this. Also where can I get the tool to do this. Thanks

You can rent a fuel pressure gauge at most auto parts stores if you don't own one...depends on what year you as to how you check it

It is a 1998 model. Just picking it up and sounds like I may need to do this at some point and time. Currently researching how to change the spider's also.

But it's super easy. The tool is a free rental from autozone, etc. with a $150 deposit.

Hooking it up is as easy as screwing on a fitting on the fuel line.

Thanks for the info, just finished searching the spider replacement threads, I will continue to use the search tool for fuel pressure testing. I bounce between between a few other forums, this has been my home for the past week and weeks to come. Off topic but I can provide a lot of information relating to the Dodge Challenger, I have lived there since 2009.

simply put,on the back of the engine on drivers side you'll see a little fitting with a black cap. Remove the cap,whalla you found the fuel port. Screw the gauge system on it,prime the pump twice so you know for sure you built pressure.turn the key on without starting the engine. Its gotta peg at 60,and hold above 55 for 10 minutes. If it falls below 55 you have a weak pump or leaking spider. To confirm it,there should be some adapters with the kit. Tap it into the fuel filter and do it again. If it drops below 55 still,you have a bad pump. If it holds good,you are looking at a bad regulator/spider.

you own a blazer,you will indeed be doing the pump,spider,and lower intake manifold gaskets and idler arm.

it comes with the package. lol

Yeah, that has been the theme from the short time I have been here. I hope they don't happen at once. I suppose it would smart be to do the spider when doing the lower intake gasket. What is the sympton of a bad lower intake gasket?

coolant leaks out of the engine,usually around the corners,especially on the back left side. As long as coolants not dissapearing,and it looks dry. dont touch it lol
