In the underhood fuse block, locate the FP fuse and relay, check fuse. if both sides have 12v, find relay.. the adjacent one is the horn relay. Make sure they are same relay and swap. Still no FP, then have asst turn key to on and see if FP relay clicks. If clicks, locate pin 87 socket.. be careful you have to transpose from side to bottom of relay then to relay connector in fuse block. Make sure!!! Once sure no voltage on that socket, ohm it to frame/chassis/batt grd. Should be less than 10 ohms |
the fuel pump should be on the ecm fuses
I think your truck has 2 ecm a and ecm B |
thanks guys ill look into those when i go back i hope the pump aint bad i bought it brand new bout 9 months ago surely it wouldnt be bad would it?
|
depends
what brand did you use ? aftermarket pumps last around that time line in these trucks some last 2 weeks to 9 or 12 months We recommend you use delco or delphi brands Edit: when you say you hope its not the pump did you test the harness at the tank for power ????? |
Acdelco and yeah harness was tested the harness no power was getting to the pump
|
I would not think its the pump then since you have no power in the pigtail
you might wanna start studying the wiring diagram pettyfog provided for you |
alright thanks will do giovanni

Ours did this when the crankshaft indicator plug came of at the crank shaft sensor.

Try replacing the fuel pump relay,$20 worth a shot, also could be the contact in the relay receptacle this was my problem .
