Default 94 S10 fuel pump issue

I bought a 94 S10 2.2L 5SPD for a winter beater. When i bought it there was a hole in the gas tank so we dropped the tank and replaced it. Now when you start the truck it will run for minute than die, you can restart it and it usually will than idle fine. when you drive it you cant go over half throttle with out it bogging down. We ran a new (custom) ground into the sending unit for the pump and the gauge but it didn't help any. I have no idea what went wrong and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible the line are hooked up wrong on the sending unit? There are 4 tube coming out of it. A large one for the vent a medium one (assuming for fuel to the engine) and 2 smaller ones ( 1 closest to the fuel out line is the return from the fuel rail? and the final is the vent to the charcoal box. I think) We did change the sending unit but used the pump that was in the truck when it ran fine. I have 2 more pumps that were given to me by friends but they all have the same issue. We did use brake lines to extend the rubber lines going to the pump as the truck is rusty and after we broke the sending unit we were scared to break the metal line so we used brake 2-3 inches of metal brake and hose clamps to attach the back to the sending unit...

Fixed it. The Grounds on all three sending units i have a garbage, So i drilled a hole in the top of the sending unit and ran 2 22AWG wires in to it. I twisted the wires together with my drill and JB welded the hole in the top so keep out moisture. I used a heat shrink ring terminal and a dremel to remove the rust on the frame. After plugs, wires, air filter, and an oil change she runs perfect.

Sounds good. Power and ground are essential to having a functioning fuel pump! Glad you got it fixed and thank you for letting us know.
