gas in the crankcase.

My 1994 chevy bazer was running bad and blowing smoke, I changed plugs, wires, fuelfilter, pcv valve, rotor button and distributor cap, the thing kept running bad. It starts and runs about 5 minutes and shuts off.I checked theoil and it had a grey tint to it and youcould smellgas from it. What could this be and what do I do about it?

The blazer is a 94 cpi

What color is the smoke? White or blue?

RE: gas in the crankcase.

Does the oil level on the dip stick look overly high? It is possible that the FPR (fuel pressure regulator) has failed and is dumping raw gas into the intake. Sooner or later, it ends up in the crankcase.

I would start by testing the fuel pressure and running a fuel pressure leak down test (watch the pressure over time and see if it drops). If you see a drop in fuel pressure, then I'd recommend you pull off the plastic VORTEC cover and unbolt the smaller cover under that. This should give you a narrow view into the intake. If you see pooled fuel on the lower intake, then I would recommend that you pull the upper plenum and see if you can narrow down the location of the leak.
