gas smell only after filling up
 

I have just recently noticed that after I fill up at the gas station, completely full, there is a bad odor of gas inside the cab. So bad I have to roll down the windows and roll back the sunroof to get the smell out, and even that takes a while.

Any suggestions on what it could be?
I have also noticed that on my gas cap the rubber seal around is cracked pretty bad. Could this be the issue with vapors?
