Is your MAF (mass airflow sensor) plugged in or having problmes? When i had mine unplugged for a while the same exact thing happened and i had no idea why. Plugged it back in and everything was golden

If you figure it out PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE let us know what it is. I have been dealing with this since i bought my Jimmy a year ago. So far i have changed the TPS, cleaned the MAF sensor twice, new EPC soleniod, new 1-2 acummulator and new Sonnax pinless forward accumulator piston and fluid and filter. Nothing has worked so far though im sure it has something to do with valve body.

I know mine did this just before the shift solenoid went out. belive it was the 1-2 solenoid. I lost 1st and 4th when it went. But maybe it is an issue with the iac? that's just a wild guess.

Sounds like you are running full line pressure. That usually happens when you get an 1870 code which is caused by the TCC regulator valve bore being worn. They usually work right when cold but after they warm up then they lose oil and it throws the EPC to full line pressure. A good scanner should tell you where the trouble lies. Watch the EPC percent reading and see if it drops when you get on the gas. Should be at around 58 to 60 at idle.

I have no CEL and the reader i have shows no codes. Do you need a special reader for trans codes? Also mine is a 2000 model i thought they had fixed the TCC regulator issue by then.

No special obd scanner is needed to pull codes... Hows the truck running? excellent good slugish lately ?

Hows the Tranny fluid ? Clean dark LOW over filled ?

I'd have to say it runs great besides the shifting, if anything maybe a little sluggish in first. Fluid levels right on, was just changed along with TPS, EPC solenoid and new foward and 1-2 accumulators and cleaned MAF.
