Hi everybody long time lurker new user here love this forum! Anyway just bought a 1996 4wd 4 door blazer a few months ago and have been fixing all the wrong in it had oil leaks thought I got it when I replaced my intake gasket and oil cooler lines but nope more oil leaks narrowed it down to the rear main seal and oil Pan gasket how hard are these to replace myself or should I just let a shop do it? This is definitely not what you wanted to hear but the engine will need to be pulled for both of them. TO replace the rear main alone the transmission would have to be pulled. If there not gushing I would just keep driving and check the oil level at every stop.

Thats defiantly not what i wanted to hear lol. When i check it in the morning i have a spot of oil on my driveway about 4-5 inches across would that be considered "gushing" ?

4 to 5 inch spot is a little tough to figure , how many miles do you get before your a quart down might be a better question to answer. I changed out the oil pan with the engine in the truck but the front axle had to be unbolted and moved forward after the center link was removed . Also the motor mounts had to be unbolted and the engine lifted as much as you can without breaking the distributor. As for the rear main seal , Alpinesubs is right you either have to pull the engine or drop the transmission.
