HM290 Bellhousing bolts...
Howdy...
Anyone know where I can get new bolts for the bellhousing on an HM290 in a base model 1997 Blazer 2door 4x4? I tried most GM parts places and Ebay and Amazon and local parts places and I can't find any help. Don't want to get them from a junk yard, Want new ones. Figured I could just go to Ace Hardware or Home Depot and get some bolts that match, but pretty sure the bolts need to be a certain tempered grade to be mounted on the motor. Help would be MIGHTY appreciated! |
The Bolt Barn on eBay will have what you need. Flange head, 10mm x 1.25 thread, 10.9 grade JIS in the lengths needed. Do you have the old bolts to measure?

Bolts I need are 1 5/8" in length, so I reckon I could find something in that.

I listed incorrect pitch size of threads in first post. What you will be looking for is M10 x 1.50 x 45mm.
Good luck Brad. quick search on amazon showed these. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/blazerf...718b366b5.jpeg |

Failing that i typically get my hardware from McMaster-Carr, great item and shipping prices but count on ordering in Bulk.

Update...
Got the new bolts but they are not the correct size to mount the bellhousing to the back of the motor. So I went to the Home Depot with the old bolts that fit and they are 3/8"x16 threads. The M10x1.50x45's don't even go into the holes in the back of the motor. So off to get the correct threaded bolts again. Luckily bolts are expensive, just a slight set-back and annoyance. The incorrect bolts are going in the miscellaneous bolt bin. |
