Hood "Lift Kit"
Hey, does anyone know if they make a pneumatic cylinder kit for the S/T Series hoods so it is easier to open the hood and not have to use the prop rod? I noticed this in Four Wheeler magazine: http://www.hoodlift.com/
I know I am probably crossing a line somewhere by mentioning a JEEP related product, but I am wondering if they make such a product for Blazers/Jimmys. |

IIRC, there was a thread about this a long time back. I'll take a look. edit - *Sorry, I couldn't find it.* |
I'm sure there was. Not too long ago if I recall. Someone had done it on a full size, I think, and had referenced a source or someone who had done it on a 1st gen. Might have been on the old gmtruckforum or s10 forum.
I recall being interested, cause I'd like to do that myself. Something about needing to fit the strut brackets directly to the fenders. I'll see if I can find the link - if it was on here or on s10. Found it! http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f137/g...talled-387616/ Thanks to Blanz on s10. The e-bay link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tchlink:top:en |
Definitely can be done and as Ken links point out, there are ones for sale.
I'm making one for my Rainier out of old rear window supports from a '96 Astro. Integrated switch and all for an underhood light. |
Made my "kit" Been on it for over a year with no problems.
