Default Hurst shifter type help?

Looking to find some Hurst Type Shifters, what do I need to do?

looking at summit racing.

Do I need to max Trans pressure line? If so how?

I have used this shifter with good results if this is what your looking for. No need to raise line pressure.
Good luck.

Looking at that yep, I need to ‘manually’’ shift the gears at the moment its doing weird things when I open throttle like basically its going neutral

i am looking to roadkill custom wire it for 4th and toggle the TCC

Not familiar with the wiring modification. Need to find source of the odd shifting and determine whats causing it. Possibly low fluid, input sprag failure or other.

Soooo Paco is Now check engine light free! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏼

soooooo would the front 2 ABS Wheel Sensors cause no 1-2 and 2-1 shift?

throws only now just ABS light.

no ABSOLUTELY no trans codes AT ALL. Not even the solenoid!

no more random misfire minus muffler needing some work and o2 needing some replacing.

even that isnt throwing check engine!

new Dizzy cap as well, fixed a LOT of the Check engine issues, gas cap is garb, getting new one, MAF replaced as well fixed that!

had trans filter done not even 2 months ago! not burning everythings clean, etc no shavings!

pulled ABS scanner, weird Lft Frnt no input and high input and Rght Frnt over volt basically.

side note rear left valve leaks too (leaky drum thingy can do that later)

Thank you for the update, posting a solution helps everyone. Absolutely ABS sensors will cause shifting issues. The PCM measures each wheel rotation and if it doesn’t fall in the certain perimeter it will inhibit shifting. Several other inputs have an affect on shifting strategy. The mass airflow sensor, engine coolant sensor, to just name a few. Good job on the repair.

Thanks!

now I know one last thing to do!

I dont think its ABS whell VSS messing up the shifts.

1-2 shifts up after 20MPH let off throttle goes into 2nd 3rd and 4th fine.

2-1 shifts are fine 4-3 shifts are kinda there.

goes OD no problem downshifts no issue.

its just the 1-2 upshift issue thats it! 😅 I can peg 1-2 shifts and manually shift if needed to going up hills. Torq conv works fine, I think its a solenoid, I beat the crap outta my truck today gassing it shifts just fine after 2nd... no check engine occured AT ALL! And I GAAAAAAASSSSED it in 1st at 30mph lmao I stayed under 5500RPM. Seems to like higher RPMs anway....

is this very possible its a shift kit!?!?!?

The no shift without lifting throttle is commonly associated with a dirty or failed MAFS, TPS or VSS fault. May try to do a live data stream on those sensors if able. 1996 first year of OBDII might be hard to get without the proper software. Could even be the OBDI1/2.
