Idle problem ... RPM drops while AC is on

Default Idle problem ... RPM drops while AC is on
I have a 1998 chevy blazer. I have recently had transmission overhaul. Since then, whenever I start my car, RPM drops if I start my AC and the car almost stalls.

Is this something to do with the transmission ? Any idea what this could be ?

Is there not sometimes a circuit that will increase the idle to compensate for the extra load from the AC? Hopefully someone else can answer that.
