intermitent miss

I can't find the thread to check if I should buy a new spyder. I have an intermittent miss and it's not throwing a code. Seems to go away when I'm accelerating. Delco plugs, cap, and rotor look good. 60+ psi and holding on fuel port by dist. Wife's car got totaled on Christmas. Need help to get her running smooth by Tuesday.

Checking fuel pressure at the service port will give you the lower of regulated pressure, or fuel pump maximum output, not a good test by itself. Here is the link: https://blazerforum.com/forum/2nd-ge...eakdown-88305/

Thank you for your reply.

All fuel pressures checked out okay. Cap screw on the fire wall side of the distributor was loose. All the plugs looked okay, regaped to .045. Found and repaired a rotten vacuum line, gave it an oil change, and it seems to be running smooth. While I was under her I noticed that I will be changing the remote oil filter, and oil cooler lines soon, but that will be another day.
Thanks again for the link to the proper trouble shooting. Glad I didn't need to pull the intake plenum apart.

I thought 1st generations had an .035 gap and 2nd had an .060 gap....?

Read that the .060 gap was tough on ignition componets, reviewed with trusted 35 year GM mechanic. Even GM went back to the smaller gap.

Some of the information I found on the topic.

Interesting

Yup, interesting, but the TSB does not include the 4.3L engine.
