L35 to LL8 swap info?

I'm posting this here because I'd like to do some research before attempting anything.

My 99 Bravada has the L35 v6 (as we all know) stock. I started wondering about the 02-04 Bravada LL8 I6. It puts out 270hp stock, naturally aspirated. I know it won't be as simple as just dropping the new motor in. Things like the mounts, exhaust, harness and pcm have to be changed.

What am I missing? Also wanted to ask if anyone here has attempted such a swap.
Thanks in advance for any information.

6 Attachment(s)
The 4.2L I6 engine is longer and taller than most V8 engines. Concerning the height, the depth of the pan from crank center line is what hangs up most swaps.

Attached are some dimensional prints

One thing on the I6 dimensional, that does not include the factory intake manifold which wraps around to above the valve cover easily adding another 4" to the height. Also, on the LS V8 dimensional, it is showing an LQ4 truck engine which has a tall truck based intake manifold. The car variants had a much lower profile intake manifold that would reduce the height by a good bit.

So, the LS V8 would be a more viable option? I imagine it has a much bigger aftermarket than the LL8.

If you were looking to swap in another motor, then in my opinion, the LS engine family would be a MUCH more viable option than the Atlas engines.

The aftermarket for the LS V8 is HUGE. The aftermarket support for the Atlas I6 is practically non-existent.

So, if I went with an LS motor, what would be the best size, and what else besides what I listed would I need?
