Line broke from rear of TB?
This is an 86' 2.8 EFI. On the rear of the T. body, two hoses (one above the other) emerge.
The top one one goes to the PVC, the bottom one is OPEN, the hose has broken. Anyone know what the function of this outlet is for? It is vaccum, and I covered the hole and noticed a little difference in the sound of the engine running. Thanks! |
RE: Line broke from rear of TB?
It should go to a tee fitting an it provides vacuum to engage your front axle if this is a 4x4, and it provides vacuum to change your HVAC system controlls in the cab of the truck. You already realize the effects of the vacuum leak on the engine.
Look for the rest of the hose below the distributor between the engine and firewall. |

RE: Line broke from rear of TB?
Well, I ended up taking it to my mechanic and he said
is was just a hose that goes to the emissions canister. Could someone take a look on your unit to confirm this? Thanks!!!! |
