Mangled fuel line issues
 

Was wondering if anybody knows how to repair a mangled, steel fuel line. The line in question, is the one going into the fuel filter- I was attempting to change out the filter, and the fitting that screws into the filter, and the female fitting on the filter, were one big rusty glob. I hit it with penetrating oil, and tried getting wrenches on the filter, and the fuel line fitting, but just ended up rounding off the fuel line fitting.

I went to our local NAPA- would be no problem to fix with a compression union, if it were not a metric fitting.

Short of going to a salvage yard, and trying to cut a chunk of fuel line off a wreck, which has the fitting on it, does anybody have any suggestions?

I am assuming there is too much pressure in the lines, to simply cut the steel line before it enters the filter, and replace it with rubber fuel line and some clamps?
