Multiple issues with my truck
I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4wd 4 Door im getting code P1870, took to a shop they said I need a new pump and quoted me 875 dollars... me and my dad replaced a “torque converter clutch pulse”, 3-2 shift solenoid, pan gasket, filter, and fluid. Very aggressive jerks from 1-2 when transmissions hot, I added the Lucas transmission slip fix stuff. Still jerks.. also have a vacuum hose in the top right of the engine bay that’s disconnected and capped with a screw.. also at the bottom of the radiator on the left there is a rubber tube that seems to be cut by the fan... the engine bay gets very hot and hot air gets blown into my cabin floorboard! Any help appreciated |
Regarding the vacuum hose; look for posts referencing the HVAC and Transfercase vacuum hoses. If the hose is about or less than 1/4" ID, it is likely associated with the HVAC and/or Transfer case control system. Know that these do fail over time and leak. It is likely they need to be replaced. I have a post out there describing the hoses sizes and lengths needed to do a replacement of these.

Sounds like somebody has pluged the transmission/transfer case breather with a screw.
See it when the seal in transfer case goes bad and transmission fluid is able to overfill TC and blows fluid out the vent. Need to check the fluid level in TC and determine if it is over full. Remove top fill plug and be ready with a big container and rags because if it is over full it will make a mess! If it is to full you need to replace the input seal on the TC. Make sure that the transmission fluid is also correct. The hose you spoke of being cut off, is it buy the blower motor for the heater and AC? If so it will be the drain port for hvac system. Totally fine. Good luck and keep us updated. Also my want to watch this video of the vent tube fix. |
Also the P1870 code you are getting is from the PCM picking up components slipping in transmission and then commands high line pressure to try and preserve itself. That’s where the hard shifts are coming from.
