Neutral Safety Switch Question?

Neutral Safety Switch Question?
Today I'll be working on the Neutral Safety Switch of my S10 2000 Blazer LT 4x4 4door Automatic Trans with the Vortec Motor (W Vin) and I was just wondering the stock height of the truck I can easily access the switch on the transmission, I already found the sizes of the bolts. Do I still have to jack up the truck and put it in neutral? And put blocks under the tires to prevent it from rolling? I'm 16 and I've been working on cars since I was a little so I know what I'm doing with it.

I can access that all with the stock height and where is the clip located? I'm new to blazers..I've already done the sway bar/fuel filter/tune up and basically everything basic that I learned off previous vehicles I worked on..and I can see the safety switch is an easy job I have the new one already I matched it up and everything there's 2bolts on the front and the back of the bracket to hold it to the trans the then it's the shift linkage..those are the only visible bolts or unless GM is sneaky and hiding more that I don't know about..the directions to the new one is 'put the truck in neutral remove it' it doesn't say anything bout a clip

i think i might have a NSS issue heres a couple things that are going on in my 01 Blazer. the other day i washed my truck and the headlights would not turn off even with no key in the ignition! most of the time when i start my truck it wants to lurch forward a little bit.it's an automatic. and my reverse lights won't turn off either. i had to remove the bulbs. i need to get a sticker at the end of this month so i really need to pin point my issue.oh and my switch for the 4x4 keeps blowing fuses.. any ideas would be great.. thanks for your time...
