No start

Hello all, looking for a little help. I own a 1995 s10 2wd blazer. I drove it to work and when I went to leave, i tried to start and all I got was a thunk. I checked the starter and it was bad. Replaced the starter and engine turns by hand .when I reinstalled the cover plate under the torque converter, the engine would not turn. I removed the cover and was checking to see if converter bolts loose etc. Now the engine will not turn more than about half way. I checked all fluids etc don't see any metal in the oil and it has trans. fluid. The fluid doesn't look too burnt. Was going to pull plugs to see if getting compression. ..or try putting a camera in to see if stuck open valve ... could the flex plate broke or transmission pump broke? Truck ran great up till trying to start after work. ANY help would be appreciated.

I've heard similar stories turn out to be a broken flex plate or loose torque converter bolts binding up. I would try to listen and hear what area the thunk is coming from when it spins halfway, and try to narrow it down from there
