on mine i have one on each side of the engine on the pipes before they come together, then there is one after the cat, cant remember if ther is one before cat or not. but be shure you PB breaker them and run the truck to get the pipes hot, then be real carfull not to burn yourself but they will come out alot easyer. you may get them out cold but chances are youll strip them bad.

I have no answer about the idle mine idles at about a grand and i dont know if thats right or not, lol.

EDIT: oh yah, turn the truck off before you remove them, you just want the pipes hot.

If I remember correctly:

1,1 is drivers side
2,1 is passanger infront of cat
2,2 is passanger side behind cat

there on the exaust pipe, looks like a little tube sticking out, with wires on the end.

hope it helps.

You do not modify the idle speed. It is controlled by the PCM via the IAC (idle air control) valve. Are you afraid that your truck will stall? You can clean the IAC valve and the bore it resides in relatively easily.

Search does work...

IAC is on the drive side of the throttle body back a bit from the TPS sensor. It is mounted to the side of the throttle body with two torx screws. You may want to remove the whole throttle body and clean the entire thing.

sensor 1 bank 1= driver side pre-cat, sensor 1 bank 2= pass side pre-cat, sensor 2 bank 2= pass side after cat. On obd-2 vehicles idle is set in the computer, AFAIK it can't be changed as long as everything is working properly it shouldn't need changed.

There is no B2S2 sensor on these trucks.

In the 96-97, there are four sensors:
[ol][*]B1S1 == Driver side between the exhaust manifold and the "Y" in the y-pipe.[*]B2S1 == Passenger side between the exhaust manifold and the "Y" in the y-pipe.[*]B1S2 == Pre-cat sensor that is located between the "Y" in the y-pipe and the catalytic converter.[*]B1S3 == Post-cat sensor located directly behind the catalytic converter.[/ol]
