odd sound

Default odd sound

my 97 blazer (4door 4wd) has been making an odd sound, when i speed up high pitched squeaking sound comes out and it seems the higher the speed it my foot is on the gas it gets louder. any thoughts?

You need to isolate the sound.

NExt time it happens shift into neutral and see if the noise is speed related to the engine or drivetrain. Try lightly applying the brakes to see if the noise goes away.

well i i have reved in neutral and when i do it still squeals, as the RPMs increase the sound gets louder

I would replace the belt and tensioner. When you have the belt off be sure to check all the accessory pullies for bad or "rough feeling" bearings.

ok thanks follks im gonna get it looked at this week. and bandido our blazers are the same color!!! haha
