Ok so I have a keyless proximityignition system coming in for the blazer. And I was just told the "press brake for release" might cause a problem (where you have to push the brake to move it from park) Is there a wire in the transmission I have to press in order for it to move from park? If so I know the brake trigger sends a negative line. If the transmission recognizes this negative line could I just ground that wire out (if it is indeed a wire style)

Or is there another solution I'm not seeing yet?

I thought the problem with the brake pedal is that it gets linked to the engine kill. So like you don't start the truck up, then someone smashes your window and then gets in and drives away. That brake pedal without the key kills the engine. I would imagine the proximity start is a similar system.

well with this when I get within a certain distance it unlocks my truck and will allow the truck to start.
So basically like I get within 5 feet of the truck and it automatically tinks the key is in the ignition. I dont think the brake kill would work cause its not like a remote start it basically goes. Ok you put the key in the key cylinder.

Lol this is confusing already

Is the intention to not put the key in the ignition when you get in the vehicle? If not, then it should work as intended. You will just have to make sure that you do not hit the brake before you put the key in the ignition and turn it to the RUN position.

well Pretty much I want to eliminate the key all together. I've been having nothing but trouble with my ignition key cylinder since day 1. As it stand right now my key is locked in the cylinder. I can only turn it to start and acc. Cant turn it to the off part and remove the key. It was fixed for awile and problem has reoccured. I'm just sick of it.

So I'm gettin rid of the problem. lol.

Next question, do you have a floor shifter or column? With either, the solenoid that locks the shifter is electronic and is in the cab. This can be bypassed, but I am finding information on the true locations of the shift interlock very scarce.

Well, now that I think about this... The interlock device doesn't matter.

Even if you defeat the shift interlock device, chances are you will need to use your brakes at some point (duh) at which time your truck would just die.

Basically, do not hook up the brake disable wire to the brakes. Problem solved.

there isnt a brake disable. this things diferent then the remote start systems. basically when I get within "X" distance of the tuck it atomatically thinks the keyis in the ignition.
