I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer Vortec V-6 and for those that need to know how to install the press in oil tube without damaging it. (there is no O-ring on these) this is a metal tube and trying to get it in the block had been challenging. Most people try to force or grind down the collar, and even try to shave a portion off. No need to do this. A simple solution is as follows. Simply put the dipstick tube in your freezer for a few hours (recommend a minimum of 5 to 6) this allows the metal to shrink. Then insert the tube into the block. You will notice it is a bit easier to push it partially into the hole. After it is inserted and positioned in the direction you need it to be, simply take a pair of vise grips and carefully lock around the tube just above the lip (without damaging the tube. Take a hammer and slowly tap till the tube is fully seated. There it is fully inserted to the proper depth and no damage to the tube.
