Oil leaking
Just put a engine in my 1998 blazer from a 1998 s10 changed the oil pan gasket when I changed the oil pans so I don't think it's leaking there, I seems to be where the remote oil filter adaptor goes into the block the bolts have oil dripping from them and the bell housing is covered in oil I replaced the o ring the goes the so any ideas?
Eh,enough to get ya dirty lol. Im guessing you have a remote filter at the finder?
Just remove the single bolt holding the lines on the adapter,and the 2 bolts holding the adapter to the block. pull it down and you'll see a big oring on it. and a gasket stuck to the bottom of the block. Use something small with patience to scrap the gasket off. replace em both,and stick it all back together. You might loose a pint of oil in all this.
edit : and a tip for this,you'll be fighting with trying to get the bolts back in and that gasket lined up,to prevent this wrap 1 layer of electrical tape under the head of each bolt,and stick it in the adapter. you'll notice the bolts wont slide out then. it'll help keep the bolts in until u tighten em up since you lack room.
gasket kit is a dorman 82560

Also, don't use the help brand gasket the auto parts stores sell. The gasket was too thick when I did it, and the o ring wasn't the quite right size. It was still leaking a quart per 500 miles after replacing it.
I went to the dealership and got the same gasket and o ring kit, about $5-6. The gasket was thinner and the o ring thicker. Been over 1000 miles and not a drop!
Also, you will need to get the gaskets that go between the lines and adapter block. The Dorman part is fine for this. I used it and haven't had a problem. The little o rings that come in the help kit with the gasket for the adapter block don't work, and will blow out about ten miles from your house, leaving you stranded with a couple quarts of oil all over the road and your undercarriage. Ask me how I know...

Yeah, I remember you saying that in a previous thread about the topic. Maybe I just got a dud? Or more likely, I didn't get it installed right. Either way, the dealer parts were the same price, and fixed it for me.
And it sure was a PITA!!!! I hope I never have to take that adapter off again. Three times is enough for me!!!
