I'm replacing the tcc valve since i'm getting the p1870 code and the symptoms that go with the code. I'm using the fitzall tcc valve.

Is it a bad idea to replace it without removing the valve body? I have instructions that say to bend the retaining clip to get the valve past the clip.
If i need to remove the valve body are there any surprises to expect? will any of the ball bearings fall out?

 

screw it, i gotta get to work. A screw did the trick for now, it shifts a lot better.
