Default problems starting

I have a 2001 Blazer and it occasionally will not start for me.....Normally it will start just fine but every now and then it won't.....the last time was this morning and the time before that was yesterday morning....The engine cranks and occasionally sputters....Yestereday when this happened I checked the spark and there was spark....I unfastened the air cleaner where it attaches to the TBI and poured in some gas and cranked the engine and it fired up.....then died after the gas ran out....I tried it again and same thing....I tried to start the engine w/o pouring the gas in and nothing....I let the balzer sit for about 20 minutes (the normal waitig time) and the blazer started up like normal...
So what do I do anyone??????

Default RE: problems starting

Sounds like its doing what my buddies blazer did and if it is then the fuel pump is on its last leg. His would turn normally sometimes but quite often it would just take forever to crank or need a couple trys to go. Every once ina while we would have to let it sit for a few minutes before it would go. However before going head first into a new pump try checking your fuel pressure when startingand see what that looks like to makesure that for sure its fuel related. Next get a new fuel filter (its cheap insurance anyways) and see if that helps. If after that you still have issues your probably due for a new pump.
