pulling trailer

I was wondering if this had ever happened to anyone. I was pulling a trailer from GA to FL this weekend and on the way I was doing about 70 mph and the tranny started leaking fluid. so we stopped for the night the next morning I topped the fluid off and kept it under 50 and I didnt have a problem the rest of the way. Can anyone explain this, :icon_bike:

do you know where the fluid was coming from ?

It might of came from the vent on top of the trans. OR you have a leak somewhere Rear seal or front seal.

How much did you loose also ?

I'd say heat, pressure & the trailer. Where was it leaking from on the trans?
If you plan on doing that more I'd get a B&M Super Cooler for the trans. The model I got works great. 130-70255. I chose it because of it's depth, only 3/4" thick & then I realized the 1-1/2" model B&M 70264 B&M SuperCooler Transmission Coolers= would have fit easily & cooled a lot more.
Only thing I have bad to say is ditch the standard hose clamps supplied with them. 1 of mine blew off while driving. Thankfully I was a few blocks from a parts place I deal with & I replaced the hose clamps with fuel injection clamps. They actually are a nut & bolt set-up & hold super well!

Well thats just it I could not tell where it was coming from, the rear main seal was dry. And it was dry at the bell housing if I had to guess I would say from the top of the tranny, because it was dripping from the back of the pan and all down the side. But I just changed the pan gasket two weeks ago so I new it wasnt coming from there. And It didnt leak the next six hours keeping under 50. And about a year ago I replaced the cooler lines. And no thank god this was just a one time thing. And also thank god that my truck didnt drop the tranny because I was 4 hours from any help both ways. THANK U JESUS.

Yea it might of came from the vent then.
