Question on changing plugs 1995 Blazer 4.3

I changed my #3 by putting the spark plug socket on it and using an open end wrench to turn it out. Slowly but surely and didn't have to disconnect anything. The end of the socket has a hex head on it. I forgot what size it is but it is a common size and was pretty easy to remove and put new plug in.
