Default remanufactured engine sound

I recently purchased a remanufactured Jasper engine for my 1995 Chevy Blazer, the engine I had before that which was the original, sounded a whole lot quieter then the re manufactured one,my question is should the manufactured engine sound so rough, and also should it sound so rough when I'm pressing on the accelerator?

I think you're going to need to be a little more specific as far as sounding rough. Is it a mechanical sound, air sound, etc?
Could it have an exhaust leak that is causing it to sound louder and possibly rougher? Or is it an actual mechanical problem such as valvetrain or rotating assembly?
One of my friends had a Jasper engine with the ring gaps lined on one piston and it eventually burned a groove in the side of the piston and all the oil got pushed out while going down the interstate.
