Replace cool. reservoir overflow hose?

Default Replace cool. reservoir overflow hose?

On my 2003 Blzr 4wd , I am missing the overflow hose on the coolant reservoir or Coolant recovery tank as Rock Auto and Dorman call it. Should I just get a length of heater hose the proper diam. and clamp it on or do I need a molded hose like GM provided. Rock Auto doesn't have just the hose, but Rock does list by Dorman a reservoir, hose, cap, but no fluid level sensor,all for $17.49 plus shipping. Anyone have any experience with the Dorman 'recovery tank' ? Anyone know the size of heater hose needed?

im not sure of the size of hose you would need, but i dont think that it was a 'molded' hose. it was just a short length of hose. and there inst a fluid level sensor that i know of. so to answer your question, yes a piece of heater hose that you can clamp on there will work just fine, so long as you can find the right size.
