Replacing lines from the fuel tank.
I'm in the process of replacing my gas tank because it was leaking, and decided to replace everything in that area because of rust. I was wondering about the 3 lines that come out of the fuel pump, does it matter which goes where? I'm assuming fuel is coming out of all of them but goes to different places.

are you referring to the length or diameter? Ordered replacement line off rock auto and I got a bunch of it on a spool. The only one that's different is the bigger one that goes into the filler neck.

Those lines are all different. One is pressurized fuel, one is a return line, and one is for vapor. If you're going to pull out the pump (and, from the looks of it, you should), it should be fairly obvious on the inside which is which.
Looking at that rust, I guess there is actually one good thing about living in California.

I actually bought a whole new pump assembly, figured while I'm replacing the tank I might as well do that too. I figured each line had a different purpose, is there somewhere where I could figure out which line from the fuel pump goes into which line in the car? I labeled the pic to help, does line 1 on the pump go to line 1 on the car? That's what I'm trying to figure out. Admittedly I should have looked before I cut them but too late now.
