Severe transmission fluid leak when warmed up... Has me stumped.

First of all, sorry for the long post. Please don't just skip over without at least reading.

I've done a bunch of reading on here and checked all the usual culprits that are easily accessible.

The Trans cooler lines are not restricted.
The vent tube attached to the Trans dipstick is not leaking.
Looking through the inspection holes in the bellhousing show no visible leaks.

The transmission pan has had a very minor seep for years but has never really left a drop on the ground that I've ever seen.

Starting this past Friday, March 20th, while coming back home from a vacation my Blazer has developed a very bad transmission fluid leak that I'm having trouble tracing. I discovered the leak after losing overdrive and my SES light coming on.

The leak seems to be coming from the rear of the transmission somewhere. Above the pan.

I've put so much work and money into this truck lately, on top of my vacation, that I can't just throw parts and money into it anymore. I will also be seriously pressed for time with my work schedule changing so I don't have a lot of time to R&R parts only to find there's nothing wrong.

Does anyone here have any ideas as to where this leak could be coming from? Topping off the transmission every time I fill up is gonna get expensive quick and I don't really trust stop leak so I need to trace this issue quickly..

It is leaking into the transfer case through the input shaft. Remove the top plug on the transfer case and be ready to catch the fluid because it will be full.

It would seem that my blazer finally realized that it was costing me too much money. The transmission leak seems to have stopped leaking all together for now.

Not really sure what happened there. What are the chances that the leak was caused by extreme heat? I was driving through mountains on my way home from a 3500 mile round trip road trip when all of this started...

If the leak has stopped that probably means you are now low on transmission fluid. check it before you drive too far.

That's the strange part. It's not low and the transmission is shifting smooth as ever... And it hasn't reset the transmission component slippage code either..

Well then possibly it was over filled. An over fill condition can cause foaming and cavitation which can effect shifting and performance. It can also cause leaks in places that dont normally see fluid on a full time basis.
