Slow acceleration, high RPM
 

Hello,

Recently while accelerating from a stopped position, acceleration is slow and RPMs are high (2000/2500) until I reach 30KM, then RPMs go back to normal. (1000-1500)

So instead of taking off from Drive, I been taking off in gear 1, and that helps, acceleration and RPM are normal, then I switch to back to Drive, while in motion.
Its good for now but I'd like to get an idea of what the problem can be and a potential fix.

What are you working on and how many miles?

Is the SES or check engine light on? Scan it for codes.

It sounds like the transmission is slipping, and or not downshifting into 1st gear.
