I just replaced a spider injectors in a 2002 Chevy blazer for a friend and when we started it up and now makes a whining noise and i cant figure out what it could be...

Does any one know what it could be coming from? is the injectors bad?

Does it go away after it warms up? Did you hear it before the spider change. Maybe the fan clutch

 

No it was still there when it warmed up and it wasnt making the noise before i changed it.

 

thats odd, there is not anything that can make any noises,unless its the unit itself, when i did mine last summer, smooth sailing, did you use the new bracket or the old origional one,not sure if thats any issue, but i did change mine sense the rockauto web page suggested it, could it sound like an air/vacuum type leak/sound?

 

That could be it, possible vacuum issue

 

I used the original bracket and ive gone back and checked ever hose/connectors and they are all connected.

I went out a few mins ago and started it up and when i wiggled the plug on top of the injector it made the whinning noise lower then it was... so im thinking the unit is bad

 

So i replaced the bracket and not it only makes the noise when it warms up and its not as loud as it was but its still there.

 

It could be the gasket or some other type of leak on the upper intake. I might try some propane from a small propane torch and go around the intake with the engine running to see if the rpm's shoot up. I use just little burst of the propane gas working around the intake. Personally I don't keep the propane flowing. Just on-off, move a few inches; on-off, move a few inches, etc.

 

hey bryanbc I think me and you might have the same problem I have a video here of my weird whinning noise does it sound like yours? Did you ever fix yours?

 

there is a vacum hose loacted at the back of the intake manifold relplace that $5 also check you pcv hoses that they are sealed side to side and to the intake otherwise without that vacumn youll be wearing out your rings
