Default Starting issues

Hello. I’m new here and my first post. I have a 2000 Blazer and for the most part runs fine, however it has a random starting issue. It will start fine for days or weeks and then I’ll go to start it and it turns over but never starts. I can keep trying for a few minutes and it never will. I then come back in 30 minutes or more and it starts, sometimes with a back fire. Any idea what causes this?

thanks.

Have you done a pressure test? How old is the fuel filter? If you get bad gas st a certain station, could clog up the filter...

I haven’t done a pressure test and I’m not sure on the age of the fuel filter, but I’ll check it.

Be ready with a fuel pressure gauge and a means to test spark and see which one it is the next time your stuck. A backfire suggests ignition.
