Starting issues
Alright so I have a 95' 4 door LT blazer. It has some weird starting issues. Sometimes it takes a while to start and I have to give it some gas. But sometimes it starts right up. After it starts, sometimes I can smell gas and it starts up a little boggy. Someone told me it could be leaking fuel injectors that flood the engine. I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

RE: Starting issues
can be either leaky fuel poppet nozzles from the fuel injector, is this a CSFI or CPI or TBI?
|
RE: Starting issues
95 only has the CPI injection setup.
I would start with a fuel pressure test, specifically the leak down after the pump has shut off. This could be the start of an FPR (fuel pressure regulator) failure. |
RE: Starting issues
Say, do it after the pump is shut off?

RE: Starting issues
Connect the gauge, turn the key to 'on', not 'start', andnote the reading. Turn the key to 'off' andnote if the pressure drops. Note whether there is a continued drop over the next several minutes. Report back to this thread with your figures.

I know this is old. But I'm still having problems and sorry for never reporting. I never got around to that. But this might help. Before everything and this thread, just a few months or in between. I have replaced the starter, fuel pump, fuel filter, and spark plugs.
Could this be a cap and rotor issue...and possibly wires? |
Still waiting on the results of a fuel pressure test and any change in the symptoms.

Sorry. I'll go into auto tommorow and do that. Sorry for the long wait in between. Been some issues and such.

I don't know if you have fixed it yet , but I have a 1996 s 10 blazer cpi engine and I had problems like that and mine was Distributer cap, it happen a lot whenit got wet out. the distributer cap are known to have problems sealing. I took the cap off made sure that it was dry and put a knew cap on and to help if water got in you can get some silicon spray. make sure you can use the kind for electical. It will work if your problem is the same.
