Default Stickshift fluid trouble

Alright, I've been at it for quite a while and I can't seem to find a solid source for my troubles. Lately I've been doing all the maintenance on my 2000 Blazer and I finally got to the transmission and differential. So I ran in to the problem that I can't find any decent or reliable information about what exactly to use in the 5 speed manual transmission of my Blazer. I know I need a Synchromesh transmission fluid (according to the owner's manual) but a few of the stores I went to told me I need Dex III, so which one is exactly? I also want to go full synthetic so my friend recommended me Royal Purple, but here is the problem. Do I use RP Max ATF or RP Synchromax? Also if anyone can tell me how much fluid I am going to need exactly, that would be great.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me.

The only S-10 I've ever had was an '88 and it ran automatic transmission fluid in it.
