tbi and heads?

I fianlly found a motor but it was carburated came from a 86' blazer and it was carburated but he has a adapter plate he threw in for FREE:icon_teeth: but it doesnt come with a tbi ( throttle body injection ) so what would get me best mpg? and would vortec heads fit on the block?

You can put the vortec heads on, but you would need a new intake to match the bolt orientation used on the vortec heads (vertical bolts instead of perpendicular to the gasket surface).

As far as the motor is concerned, you can put a TBI intake on it or just an adapter to allow the throttle body to mount up.

I get 24 mpg out of my 350 tbi on the highway with a lot of goodies in the engine.

And what kind of goodies do you have sir???? becuase im so far putting on a 670cfm holley tbi flow master daul exhaust and considering the vortec heads I hear alot of good from them! and maybe a mds ignition systeme

Bored .20 over sealed power pistons Edelbrock aluminum 60859 TBI performer heads, Edelbrock 3704 TBI intake, Edelbrock 3702 TBI cam, Edelbrock chip, Comp Cams 1.6 full roller rockers comp cams .100 hardened pushrods, Billet MSD distributor, MSD blaster coil, MSD 6AL, Taylor custom fit wires NGK plugs, Holley 670 TBI rebuilt 700R4 B&M 2400 holeshot Torque converter, expensive stuff that have no bearing on motors ability (billet aluminum chevy valve covers, milidon oilpan, lokar oil dipstick), 14x3 K&N air filter, dual exhaust with dynomax super turbo mufflers, ceramic coated Sanderson S10 swap headers, stock rear with 3:08 gears which is why it probably gets good mileage still, I drive the hell out of it and have not destroyed the stock 7-5/8 rear after 8 or 9 years of hard abuse since I did the swap. The vortec heads are very good for the price you can get them for but by the time you do everything else you need to to make them work properly you can buy the aluminum edelbrocks and get the chip free.
I am sure there is more I have done but can't remember right now.

I don't like to talk about what it cost it makes me think of other things I could have done lol. Honestly I would have to go looking for all the bills and add it up I never really figured it out as I know it was too much.
The heads were $1495.00 cdn the roller rockers were $325 I think the intake and cam were around $500 the MSD stuff I bought used on ebay got it all for about $230 the 2400 &M was about $350 pushrods were probably $75-$100 sanderson headers were $325 K&N filter friend gave me valve covers were $225 oilpan was like $200 lokar dipstick was about $75 taylor wires were $90 holley TBI ebay used was $150 tranny rebuild cost me $800 that included a new stock converter that is now sitting in the B&M box, piston set was $390 ish plus a complete gasket set was like $275 dynomax super turbo mufflers $75 each probably more costs but thats enough to make me feel bad.
It does well though it's fun as hell to drive.
