Throttle Cable Adjustment, is there any?
1998 Chevrolet Blazer LS- There's a lot of slack on my throttle cable and I want it to be a little tighter, but I can't seem to find any adjustment on it other than some sort of do it yourself. If any one has suggestions or ideas, or knows of any way to do it right please let me know.

Short of getting a brand new throttle cable, there really isn't a way to adjust the throttle cable on these trucks. I have done some looking around on my truck it appears that there is a bead on the end cable where the gas pedal is inside the cabin. You are probably going to have to tear apart the knee bolster to get to it. Most mechanics I talk to say that the only to get rid the slack in the throttle cable, is to get a new one.

Use a zip tie around the spring up at your gas pedal to get rid of the slack in the cable

This link should help. Another adjustment for your jimmy be a plastic piece close to the gas pedal, you will have to take the plastic cover off and I have a youtube video that I am going to share with you. ( |
