tranny swap??

ok... so i have a 78 Blazer 4WD400CID enginewith a TH350 trans... I have a buddy that has a Turbo 400 trans with stage 2 shift kit freshly rebuilt.... it is not for a 4WD truck tho... will it fit and what do i need to make it fit? or should i just look for a 350 trans?

It would fit but you would probably need to give up 4WD in your blazer, unless there is a way to convert it so that you could mount your transfer case on it. GM made those trannies pretty universal. I just put an SM465 with an NP205 Transfer and it's the best combination i could imagine...

I know in the s-series, if you try to get a 2wd tranny to put in a 4wd...you need a new driveshaft..can't remember if it's either shorter or longer.
