Just have one last question in regards to the ABS.........the ABS is still acting up on occasion. Even with the reluctor ring cleaned up. I can hear it activate when I would roll down the driveway slow. Most recently today in the A.M. when it was very cold outside. The ABS light came on and the trans started flipp'n out again. Drove it for awhile and the ABSlight went off, now everthing is back to normal. Is this an ABS problem that requires replacement of the sensor? What would you do? Thanks for all your help.

It does not appear that there is any way to adjust the ABS sensor in the 1st design. Not sure if you can do anything about it but replace parts or come up with some way to modify the way the sensor is attached...

Well I'm going to replace both front wheel sensors with the backing dust plate. This ABS business is getting bad. Do you (swartlkk) know of any way of accuratly putting these on? Adjustments, etc. Hopefully there are instructions with it. Maybe you know some people you could ask on this first design application? Any help is apprerciated.

The sensor needs to read at least 200mV as you spin the wheel (I would shoot for 350mV if you can). You need to adjust the positioning of the sensor (how close it is to the reluctor ring) to get to this value. How that is done... I do not know. I would think there would be enough clearance in the bolt holes where the shield attaches to adjust the spacing.

Now is that value going to fluctuate as the wheel spins, like how fast I spin the wheel? Thanks.

No, only the AC frequency will be impacted by wheel speed.
And although I wish I could remember every person that I help and the particulars of their problem, it is almost impossible given the number of people that I help throughout any given week. This is only one of the reasons why I have instructed you to keep things in this thread. Not only does it allow others to benefit from this discussion, but it also allows me to read back through the thread and reacquaint myself with your particular problem. This creates added work for me when you ask for help through PM.

Looks like the bottom line is it was the speed sensor in the side of the transmission. {first design, again.} Thanks for all the time, help and ideas with this. Cost of the sensor...$73 bucks. Found it on Amazon.com. Borg Warner. Had a $50 gift card, so final cost..$23.
